4 Days Mahale Chimpanzee Trekking Safari Experience

4 Days Mahale Chimpanzee Trekking Safari Experience : Visit Mahale National Park on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. The secluded Mahale Mountains of Tanzania, which rise to 2,438 meters from the deep turquoise waters of Lake Tanganyika, just south of Jane Goodall’s Gombe Preserve, are the best spot in the world to watch chimpanzees in the wild. This 1,613 km2 park is one of Tanzania’s most remote and gorgeous national parks, but also one of the most difficult to access.

The sun rises over the lake and sets behind the high rise of mountains that reach 2,438 meters at Nkungwe Peak, and because there are no roads in the park, all of the trails that run through its glades and distances are only accessible to those who walk them. Numerous trails and tracks allow tourists to enjoy very lovely forest treks while also having the opportunity to see some of the many varied inhabitants of the lowland woods, upper woodlands, and savannahs.

The interaction with the chimps will undoubtedly be the highlight of your visit. Every day, you can track them in the beautiful tropical rain forest with expert guides and trackers. Once identified, you may observe their everyday activities, including grooming, wrestling, squabbling, foraging, mothers playing with infants, and babies playing with other babies. It’s an infinite source of entertainment. Fishing, snorkeling, swimming, and canoeing are available after days of trekking.

Aside from chimpanzees, this reserve is home to leopard, lion, kudu, eland, buffalo, roan and sable antelope, olive baboons, red colobus, and white spot nose mangabeys, among other animals. This is one of Africa’s most remarkable parks, dominated by the brooding presence of Nkungwe Mountain and covered in vegetation that spans practically the full range of African botany.
