7 Days Tanzania Northern Safari

7 Days Tanzania Northern Safari : This Tanzania Safari takes you to explore the northern part of Tanzania including national parks such as Tarangire, Lake Natron, Ngorongoro, & Serengeti national park

DAY 01: PICK UP AND DRIVE TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK.

Your Tanzania safari guide will greet you at the hotel in Arusha and welcome you to your 7-day Tanzania safari. He will brief you on the 7-Day Tanzania Safari before driving you to Tarangire National Park, where you will eat your packed lunch in the middle of the bush during your game drive. Tarangire National Park is famed for its vast elephant herds and ancient baobab trees.

After arriving at Tarangire National Park, you will go on a full-day game drive until the afternoon, when you will pause for a picnic lunch. You will then continue with the game drive until the evening, when you will be driven to your hotel for supper and an overnight stay. During your game drive in the park, you will observe wildlife species such as gazelles, impalas, zebras, and waterbucks, among others, as well as the many bird species for which this national park is famous.

DAY 02: FULL DAY NGORONGORO AND OVERNIGHT AT THE SERENGETI

Today, after breakfast at your lodge, we will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend 600 meters into the crater bottom for a game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is a lush region with plenty of water and fodder to support a diverse range of species, including wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthogs, hippos, and enormous African elephants. The Crater is home to certain rare kinds of black rhinos living in their natural habitat; this may be one of the few places where you can view rhinos in the wild.

Caldera is another fascinating area of Ngorongoro, with a higher predator population that includes lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, and the elusive leopard, which can be difficult to view without binoculars. You will visit Lake Magadi, a big but shallow alkaline lake in the southwest corner that is home to a large population of flamingos and other water birds. After a lunch break, we will ascend from the crater and proceed to central Serengeti for supper and an overnight stay.

DAY 03 AND 04: FULL-DAY SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

You have two full days to explore the Serengeti National Park. Your safari guide will select good and exciting spots for your wildlife drive during your two days in Serengeti National Park.

During the migration, millions of wildebeest pass through the Serengeti, and lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and other small predators can be found on the vast flat plains. Your guide will select the best wildlife-watching areas for the time of year. Spend time at the hippo pool, watching these massive animals relax in the cool water with the crocodiles, watching a lion stalk its meal, or being amazed by the scale of the big wildebeest migration. The trek from wide, open plains to kopjes—volcanic rocky outcrops that protect and shelter a diverse range of animals—will provide you with the best in-game viewing experience.

DAY 06: FULL DAY LAKE NATRON

Today you have the entire day to explore the lovely Lake Natron. You will participate in a variety of activities, including bird watching, Ngare Sero Water Falls, a day hike across the Rift Valley, a sundowner with a view, and a visit to Maasai Boma.

Lake Natron is located at the lowest point of the valley in East Africa, at an elevation of 600m or 2000ft above sea level. Here, the water evaporates, leaving behind extremely high amounts of soda. This lake supports a large number of flamingos due to its abundance of algae and zooplankton. The remoteness and antagonism of the soda mudflats provide a relatively safe environment for flamingos to breed and nurture offspring. The lake is also bordered by numerous springs, some of which are fresh enough to supply drinking water for a wide range of animals, both large and small.

The Great Rift Valley spans from northern Ethiopia to Mozambique in the south, covering over 5,600 kilometers. The valley is formed when two tectonic plates move apart, forcing the valley floor to collapse, leaving intact and fractured valley walls or escarpments. The conspicuous escarpment in this area is to the west. Volcanoes and craters of various ages are spread around the valley. Oldoinyo Lengai (Mountain of God) is Tanzania’s sole active volcano. Volcanic activity in the Great Rift Valley creates soda (sodium carbonate), which is washed away by rain and groundwater.
