Exploring the reptiles at Meserani Snake Park. You cannot speak of Arusha without mentioning Meserani, or most famous snake park in East Africa. It is located at a distance equivalent to a 45mins drive from Arusha town while heading towards Manyara. Its location is strategic, as it is located just near the road while heading to the other national parks on the Northern Circuit (i.e. Tarangire, Serengeti, Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater). There are various activities that are likely to be conducted while at Meserani such as having snake tour whereby visitors are likely to be exposed to various species of dangerous snakes that are found in this park. The species of snakes includes the most dangerous species of snakes in the world such as the green mamba, black mamba, puff adders and the Egyptian cobras. The entrance fee to Meserani snake part is not that much expensive since it has been categorized into two categories; the fee for the indigenous (Tanzanians) and the fee for the foreigners. The fee for the Tanzanians is very low while the fee for foreigners is almost about 20 USD which is equivalent to almost forty six thousand Tanzanian shillings (just in case you opt to pay in Tanzanian shillings).
